You must complete formal training and pass the test in order to submit an application for the Door Supervisor Licence with the SIA.

Unit 2 – Working as adoor supervisor
Unit 3 – Conflict management
Unit 4 – Physical intervention
Door Supervisor Assessment
Four multiple-choice tests and a practical exam are used to evaluate the course. These will be held on the last day of the course and will assess your understanding of the material covered.

Complete SIA application form
Starting a licence application will cost you £190. Within 25 working days, the SIA will respond to your inquiry. Rarely, this could take up to six weeks.
Submit photo ID

Renewing your Door Supervisor Licence
In most circumstances, renewing your SIA Door Supervisor Licence is simple, however occasionally additional refresher training is necessary. When you earned your qualification will determine everything.
In the following scenarios, additional training is not necessary for you:
Your certification was given out following September 2010.
“[Awarding body name] Level 2 Award in Door Supervision (QCF)” appears on your qualification certificate.
However, in either of the following circumstances, more training is necessary:
Your degree was granted before June 2010.
Your degree was granted between June and September 2010, and the Physical Intervention Skills module was not part of your training programme.
Before you can renew your licence, you must pass the “Up-Skilling for Door Supervisors” award if you need the additional refresher training. Our training providers that deliver the license-linked door monitoring qualification have this course accessible.
